Hi,
I Introduced a Diamond Goby about 2 weeks ago. Little fella made a burrow and I would see him sift some sand every couple days. Have not seen him recently. Did not pay it much mind as he is new and sometimes they go MIA under the rocks for a bit.

During that time I also discovered the digital salinity tester I had been using was not accurate. I discovered my salinity was 1.030, not 1.025 like it said. Over the last 5 days I have brought it down to 1.026. Doing .001 per day. All the fish and inverts had been doing fine and are all still doing fine as of today.

During feeding time today, the zombies came alive and started roaming as usual. This time however, 3 of my Nassarius snails spent all of 1 hour circling the rock the Diamond Gobies burrow is/was. They seemed to trying in vein to get under that rock but could not. Eventually they gave up.
I am curious if this may be a sign the Diamond Goby died under the rock?

Todays numbers:
Ammonia - 0
Nitrite - 0
Nitrate - 5
Phosphate .03
Calcium - 410
Magnesium - 1100
DKH - 8.5
Salinity - 1.026 (Calibrated Refractometer)
Temp 78.5
pH 8.0

Thank you

The test kit shows the tank is fine, so I would trust the test kit over the snails walking pattern.

I think it’s just snails be snails. I’ve got one snail who will look dead in a corner for a day or two, then go back to cleaning glass like nothing ever happened.
