A lot of questions lol but Is it quiet ? How long have you had it? What’s your livestock like ?
It's very quiet, I've been using it for a year now. I have tons of livestock, take a look at my build thread.

Ive been using the Aquamaxx for almost 3yrs now and it has been fantastic! Its in a 20g sump for a 40b tank. It is stocked well and fed well. I will recommend that you do a complete cleaning of the skimmer every 3 months the ensure best performance and longevity. I purchased an in-sump version for another system because i liked the HOB so much.

I cant speak for reef octopus either. Their product may be just as good :p but my experience with aquamaxx will make me a continued customer.

I have used Reef Octo hob 100 on a 33 long for a couple years Love it great skimmer. However that was in a school, classroom the internal pump is a safety feature I am very interested in for my AT HOME 40 breeder. Wet Carpet = lost tank or Divorce... LOL.
