I am about to reinstall my Aqua Ultraviolet 25 W sterilizer that’s been sitting dormant for many years. I have to replace the UV bulb. I got the wiper version but I see it’s no longer recommended for saltwater use.
I understand AquaUV sells a plug for the wiper hole for $30 which seems outrageous.
I did read about one user using a nylon nut but haven’t seen any response to inquiries if that white nut held up to the UV.
Since I still have the threaded nut that the wiper comes out of, can I just fill the channel with silicone, or will the silicone be broken down by UV light as well?
