Hey everyone,
I recently have been having trouble keeping my temperature down so I started messing with my old old Alex classic that stopped working a few years ago after our basement flooded. After replacing the aux power connector on the main board, it finally powered up again. I set it up to fusion, which I was very excited about as that didn't exsist when it died. It was running in test mode which a call to customer support solved.
I got it programmed and setup but now it's freezing. It only works again if I unplug all power and restart. The last time this happened all the programming was lost and it entered test mode again and have weird errors; outlets manually set to "foo"
I plan to try to get ahold of customer service again tomorrow and hopefully send it in for them to look at but at this point I'm wondering if I should cut my losses and upgrade to the newer model.
I saw that the new model is compatible with the old EB8 and display, so I'd only have to buy a new head unit. Are the new EB832 outlet models and new display really worth getting the whole package? I'd probably get the apexel but I didn't see the head unit for it sold alone.
Overall I'm very impressed with Neptune systems. I've never picked up an old product to find that it's better and has MORE features then when I bought it. Used to companies retiring products when they're three years old instead of making sure all their new equipment is backwards compatible with their old systems.
