I've just started researching this technology thanks to a discussion with a fellow hobbyist and friend who also plans to incorporate some of these over a big reef tank. I've been wanting to add a point source, daylight spectrum, fixture over my Magnifica anemones and these seem like a good fit. It appears that they have not truly fallen in favor for most reefers, or most horticulturists even here in the US (thanks LED's!!) so fixtures can be found relatively cheap. But, before I pursue some of these fixtures, I thought it best to ask if anyone is still using them over their reef. I found a few old threads, but nothing within the last couple of years.
I would be using these pretty much for just peak light hours, noon to 5:00 or 6:00, in conjunction with my Red Sea Reefled 160's that would handle ramp up and down.
So, if you're running plasma/LEP, please let me know your experience. If possible, please post pics, and even better, a video!
Thanks in advance!
