This happened overnight. Not sure what's going on. I recently did a water change 48 hours prior and everyone was happy until now. Black spots all over the Kenya tree.

Not sure if it is because it hasn't opened since and notice the black around the branches? Doesn't seem normal. I've this coral for 2 months now and first time it does this. I do have to point out that i have other leathers within close proximity so not sure if their is chemical warfare going on but it's the biggest coral i actually own but the saddest so far. I'm going through my parameters right now.

Just checked parameters and are as follows:
Sal: 1.025 ( needed to top off as it was 1.026)
Kh: 8.6
Ca: 410
Mg: 1140 ( just added 50ppt to it but doesn't reflect on number tested) i realize it should be higher but don't want to do it all in one sitting and will space it out

What has happened to it since? When my Kenya's polyps close up, they look like black spots... And it will pout for days, like a teenager.

Kenya trees are incredibly hardy. They close up and look awful like most leathers and then look great.
Yup! Trying to be patient with this one. It's the most he's opened up since I got him for $5 clearance at the LFS... A month or so ago!!

Lol. Yea that's what it seemed to happen with mine. Now it's all good. My three leather actually are back to normal. The Kenya had black spots and my toadstools had white spots.
