Hey! my name is Anthony. I previously had a build thread on my old Red Sea nano. It ran for two years before I wanted to upgrade. I decided to start a new build thread on my upgrade.
The upgrade details:
fijicube 76g rimless tank with exterior overflow system.
The tank dimensions are 48”x24”x16”
I bought new solid wood home cabinetry that matches the tanks dimensions perfectly! I prepped and sprayed the cabinetry cozy white to match the rest of my basements color theme.
Tank lighting is three ecotech marine radion G5 blue’s running wwc schedule.
Filtration is a Fijicube sump
I use a Red Sea peninsula canopy to house the radions. I also wired a gcfi outlet on the ceiling for my lights to plug up. It gives a great no wire distraction look.
The transfer of livestock strategy:
The nano aquascape and livestock all was transferred to the new tank about two months after filling the tank with new saltwater and more caribsea life rock(to match the nanos scape) The tank was seeded with pieces of the scape as well as rubble and sand from the nano. As I performed my weekly water changes from my two year old nano I would change that water to the new tank every week until the two month mark of adding the livestock.
That’s about it on the major details. I hope you follow along on my new journey on the upgrade with me.
Thanks Anthony
