I put an Angler in my tank on Sunday and I can't get the guy to eat. I have put in shrimp which he ignores as well as dangling squid and krill in front of hi. Even this morning him and the shrimp were practically on top of each other in the corner of the tank :(. Can they go a few days without eating? Is he still maybe getting use to his new home?

Go buy some ghost shrimp from the pet store and maybe he might hunt those down.

I did, he ignores them. This morning 2 of the shrimp were basically sitting in his head...

You can always try a damsel. They are usually cheap, and easy to find. Depends on the size of your angler though.

Angler is small, in the 2-3" range. Shrimp seem to be a good size for him or it would have to be a small damsel. What worries me is he has no interest in food at the moment and I hope he isn't wasting away :(

I had a few angler and if you feed too much they will stop eating. Once they stop eating it a slim chance that they will make it. If it ever start eating again just feed once or twice a week.

Did you get the red one with the spots? It's wicked looking but I heard he only had it for like 2 weeks. Hope he starts eating for you soon.

Yea he was wicked looking. I talked to the guy for a while and he said he had him for over a month and was telling me his feeding schedule. So far he is ignoring shrimp, krill and squid but I think I am going to try and buy a damsel today and a few peppermint shrimp. I meant to get some from Richard but forgot, I may make a run down to him house if he still has some.

Go to Jan's in Montclair and get some feeder guppies. Both of mine will eat that and ghost shrimp. Actually, anything that moves and will fit in their mouths.

Already tried ghsot shrimp but I'll try some guppies. Do you feed yours when the lights are off? Do you turn off all flow? How long will the feeder guppies live in the saltwater before they die?

At 10 for $1, they are much cheaper than peps. I feed whenever. The return pump is running but the Tunze is off. The guppies will probably last a few hours or more.

Thanks Kenny, I'll pickup a few guppies as well as a peppermint or two. I would just like to have the peppermints in there so if he decides to eat there is food he can go after.

Well he is in a frag tank and the only other fish in here is a tomato clown. Him and the tomato clown basically sit in the same corner right next to each other. I have put some ghost shrimp in there but he ignores them, I have even witnessed the ghost shrimp sitting on his head.....

Well I left work and dropped off some peppermint shrimp and a small damsel for him to hunt and went back inside for a few minutes. I came outside and the Angler, Damsel and peppermint shrimp were ALL in the corner lol
