Anenome injured. Please help!

Hello,

I woke up today to my long tentacle anemone stuck partially in my wavemaker. Parts of his foot have been torn up. See attached pics. Is it salvageable or detrimental to leave it in the tank to see if it survives? It still has it's green coloration but it's foot is pretty damaged. It's a FOWLR tanks and all of the other inhabitants seem fine. Appreciate you guys!

If it were me, I would be highly tempted to superglue it to a rock. I have a little doubt that the injury itself is not fatal (it’s not into the mouth or oral cavity), but if it can’t stabilize itself, then it probably won’t make it. The foot basically works on something like hydraulics… so if it’s tore up it probably can’t attach.

I would get an isolation box and put it somewhere dark for several days. Light seems to stress nems when they're injured. If it regains the ability to grip with even part of it's foot over several days it should be able to survive. If it starts to melt you should immediately remove it from your system.

It died. It expelled its "guts" out of the bottom of the foot/trunk where it was torn open, lost all color and started breaking apart. So I got it out immediately. Thanks for your help though!

That would result in its death for sure.
Even if it would hold, he could no longer move.

This was a long tentacle not a bubble tip. A bubble tip can survive this easily, long tentacle have yet to see one make it. Super glue is terrible advice this isn’t a coral like a ton of people think it would move and tear more of its foot had it survived long enough.

You may want to look into guards for the power heads.
