I've got a 13g fluval tank that had 3 anemone in it. I bought the whole setup from my lfs as is, so I've had it for about a month, but the tank is well established. One of the anemone split, so now I have 4. In the picture, you can't see one of them. But the one all the way on the left moves every single night. It has been doing this for about a week and a half. I know that means it hasn't found a good spot yet. I'm wondering if there just isn't enough space in the tank for 4 anemone, and should I just capture it and take it back to the lfs. I have been checking my water, and all parameters look good (other than specific gravity, which I am bringing back up slowly).

Specific Gravity: 1.021
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite: 0
Nitrate: 0 (I spoke to the lfs about this last week and he said they also had a hard time getting a measurable nitrate on this tank, but I am monitoring this closely).
pH: about 8.0

I have noticed that they seem to move for a variety of reasons. Mostly they don’t like the flow pattern. But I have had some that just never settle into a spot and I’ve gotten rid of them. The problematic ones seem to like to land were they can sting other corals.

Definitely remove it and return if possible. Once they get happy you will have more.

I have a small nem tank in the kitchen and 1 of the 6 moves during the night but always finds its way back on the rock during the day. Id say as long as it's not killing anything or getting stuck in powerheads let it be and eventually, it will find a spot that it likes. Outside of that, they look very happy in the tank.

I recently had one decide to change locations after being in the same spot for nearly a year. I am happy he migrated though, went from barely visible rear of rockwork to right in the middle, front and center!
These are living creatures, they can and will move around when ever they feel like they should. Just enjoy the different spots it chooses.

Well, over the weekend, we went from 4 anenome to 5 (The big one on the right finally split on Sunday). How do you know when it is overfull? Do I just monitor the water parameters and only worry if they start to go in the wrong direction?
