Hey all recently had 2 new additions to my tank a regal tang (dory fish) as my kids like to call her and a bubble tip blue n pink Anemone

The blue tang was a little baby and such a cutie thing we have recently watch it get closer to all my corals over the last 2 weeks

However today she has gone missing
I’ve checked all rocks and filters nowhere to be found

Is it possible the Anemone have eaten her this is the only possible thing I can think of at it’s a closed lid tank no risk of her jumping it’s just weird

First time keeping both type of creatures so am new to this one

I never finish anythi

I had a hippo tang which liked to wedge herself between the rocks . She was about 6 inches and could hide pretty well when she wanted to . Hopefully that's the case for you

Yeah my tang was like that used to slide herself into little cracks however did a massive shift in y rock sort of destroyed my scape of my tank searching for her could not find her anywhere only thing I could think of is potentially eaten

I have a little hippo in a tank full of anemones and it's very good about navigating through them without getting too close. It's possible that the anemone ate it (assuming it was big enough to do so) but I'm guessing it might've died before and then it got eaten. The little ones are notorious for just dying (especially susceptible to ich!).

Bubble tip anemone

What ya think? Both fairly new to tank
The tang was about as big as the clown there was a baby

Returned a hippo when I moved. Funny fish. Had a favorite sleeping spot when she was 1.5 inches but even when she quickly grew to 4-5 inches she still used same spot even though she had to turn sideways to fit in it.

She was very happy in the tank actually schooled with the clowns some points she thought she was a clown very cute
No signs of any disease in the tank all other fish etc are good I’ve had issues way back in past about a year ago where everything in my tank died due to ick so I had a massive crash coarse on how to identify issues in the tank

Just not sure where she could have gone and the only thing I can think of is the anemone

Yep the dory fish was also sliding into a crack sideways to fit into her spot and it was basically at the base of the anemone

They definitely are character fish with bursting personalities

I highly doubt that the anemone ate the tang, though there is always a slight chance. The anemone only will be able to catch sick fish, typically ones that are moribound. I don't think your anemone would have eaten the tang if it was healthy.

I’m completely stumped then on where she could have gone

I’m monitoring the amonia at moment but so far stable all other parameters also stable

No bones or flesh anywhere in tank after removing every rock and agitating the sand and this was checked approx 9hrs after seeing her swimming around the tank ‍♂️

I’m actually a little scared on paying a top price for a fish now all my fish and creatures in my tank are low level priced fish and thriving I buy my first expensive fish and does a vanishing act on me

Do you have a top on your tank? Cat at home?
Yaoundé anemone is so small, shine a bright flashlight on it’s column and you will be able to see Dori if she is sleeping in there (highly doubt)
