Hello everyone,
I have had done tons and tons of research regarding anthias breeding: from marcia's anthias to lyretail anthias and even dragonets (but that is just a secondary project).
My target would be the pink square anthias which is quite similar to the marcia's anthias in size aswell as in needs.
I will be using a 100g ultra low stock tank with only max 2-3 fish (1x forcipiger f. and maybe a pair of dragonets) other than the 3-4 mirror basslets, and probably with very low amounts of corals (since they would eat the anthias' eggs).
Now, my 1st step is to acquire the trio, which may take up to a month, depending on the wholesale companys' stocks.
If they start to breed I am going to start collecting the eggs with either nets (by hand) or a mesh, which would be attached to the overflow.
I would raise the fry in a breeding box/net in the sump, feeding them small sps coral foods and such until they get larger.
It would be incredible to get them breeding let alone raising the tiny ones.
Had anyone tried something similar ? How did it go ? Please share your ideas and experiences !
-I am going to update the thread with each step.
