I have been out of the saltwater hobby for nearly 6 years and I really want to get back into it. I used to have a 75G with 20G sump setup. Since I am military I move around every few years so I want to get a system that is easier to break down and take with me if possible. My biggest concern is for the system to be ok running with very, very minimal effort by my wife while I am in the gone for a week or so.

I am really interested in the Biocube 32 or a system similar to that. I have heard really good things about the Biocube.

I am seeking advice if there is on any other system that is comparable to this and fairly easy to set and get going, but I am also looking for a system that I can upgrade some of the features like the lighting, skimmer and possible add in an ATO, UV light, etc.

Any help would be really helpful.

I run a Fluval Evo 13.5G AIO. This might be a good easy option... Unless you are going hardcore SPS, the stock tank and equipment is more than enough to handle fish and LPS. I run a mixed reef without much problem except success varies on SPS, depending on variety.

Check out some of the builds and shares on the Fluval Evo 13.5 thread(s)

There are a lot of wonderful all in one tanks out there but be warned some don't come with lights so you would have to buy that seperatly

I included the links to some nice ones

Thank you for providing all the links! I would like to probably go a little bigger like around 30-45 gallons though, but I am going to look into these smaller systems as they would be a much easier option to move around and easier for my wife to take care of if I was not home.

Have you looked into any Red Sea reefers?

Oh I have, and they look amazing.. but that price tag is pretty unamazing.. I would hope to get everything to get the tank going and running for around 1k. All the red sea tanks basically start at 1k then I need the sand, rock, etc.

So I have the chance to get a used Red Sea Max 130D for 250.00, has anyone had any good luck with these? I know Red Sea is a great product, but looking at the replacement parts they just seem pricy.

I would look at the jbj 45. I was able to use a deltec hob skimmer, a fuge in one tower, marine pure in the other. A reactor for carbon and gfo. I only broke the tank down last week to incorporate into my 180. I did a t5/led hybrid with a maxspect razor 180 and 2 t5 tubes.
