I have brown algae growing is it a bad thing or good it’s growing on the bottom and the glass not just my dry rock?

It’s going to look a lot worse before it looks better, all part of the cycle.

You could leave the lights off if no coral, if you have lights, that will help a lot.

apart from that, just keeping up with your cleaning and water changes.

Yeah I have lights I have t8s I run an hour and half before the t5 comes on for 2 hours and then the t8 fir another hour and half

Ok I have 2 clowns that’s all right now but I don’t need the lights to complete the total cycle and try to start coralline

You need to cycle the tank and get the tank mature before even thinking about coralline algae, one step at a time, keeping the lights off will help you get there.

Just until you feel the tank is ready for corals, you don’t have to leave the lights off, it’s not a rule, but as you are getting algae already, why help grow it with the added light.

Even with the lights off you will go through an ugly stage, but it should be far less than with the lights on.
