Hello to all!

I am going through the new tank uglies and I need help to ID whats taking over my tank. I have attached a picture in white light. I have noticed that it stays very short and in clusters. I have not cleaned my tank in hope of the tank reaching its stability with much intervention. Diatoms lasted like 3 days before this took over.

Salinity 1.025
Temp 77 F
Amm 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate about 10 (Will do WC today. I am doing them 1-2 x per week)
Phos (Currently no test kit in hand)
Lights running 6hrs
Age 2mos aprox

Tank inhabitants
Small clown fish
Xenia frag
GSP frag

Tank
Nuvo 10 (about 7gals of water volume)

Please let me know if I am missing a detail that may help ID this unwanted organism.

Thank you!

Kevin

looks like hair algae. this is a normal thing that happens after diatom. u are still in the ugly phase. will take a while for the tank to adjust. During that time can add some CUC to help. Are u using RODI water? that helps too
RODI is being used.

I want to think its Hair Algae but it just stays that size. It does not grow more than that so I starter to wonder. Maybe its a form of Hair Algae that I dont know
