What is this? I get so many different answers. Cyano is my final analysis but is it that. Should I get more snails? Which kind preferred? Also should I change the salt that I use? I get it from my LFS.

Evening

A few questions come to mind. Can you tell us a bit about tank, age, numbers, present livestock. It helps when trying to I’d algae. I’ve never come across that salt so not really much feedback on that without some research.

Looks like cyno it comes in many colors.
That’s what I lean towards to but I’d rather ask the experts ( those who have done this far longer than I - like yourself ) :) Thanks for the help!

H202 is my cyno go to. Obviously the goal is to figure out why the problem originated so hopefully it stays at bay. The bacteria is always there and sometimes that's harder said than done.

Decrease whites
Decrease feedings
Manually remove what you can daily use a turkey baster

Thanks! I will check my lighting schedule and try that. I will also try the turkey basting. I’ve been scraping the top and netting it out but been taking sand along with it and I definitely want to avoid that.

Evening, good advice already. Doing good by blowing off and netting it.

A great help is a good clean up crew. A good mix of snails, crabs and other thing goes a long way to keeping a tank nice and tidy. There are bunch of places to buy them, but I like reefcleaners as a good resource
