Hello everyone,

I have got some new crazy algae that has developed over the last week.

It seems to be growing mostly on my egg crate racks and on frag plugs and discs.

It is kind of greenish brown/red. It is starting to get kinda slimey/stringy.

It seems to be making bubbles. Not bubbles bubbling up to the surface, but I can see clear bubbles everywhere & on the racks and discs wherever the algae is growing.

Any idea what it is?
What is causing it?
What to do to get rid of it and prevent it?

Thanks,
Steve

does it look like a slime algae with air bubbles in it?

i have something like that in my fuge...not in my main tanks...just the fuge...no idea how to get rid of it.

only other thing i can suggest is make sure your nitrates and phosphates are low/non-detect. use good skimming, carbon if needed. nutrient export like chaeto. and a good diverse clean up crew.
