I have a 120 AIO IM tank that’s 8 months old. I run it with two media baskets with floss, Chemi-Pure Blue, Marine Pure Biofilter mixed with Matrix 50/50 in both baskets.

I also run carbon mix with rowaphos reactor.

I just purchased a Tunze macro algae reactor which I’m setting up in a couple of days.

I have two 20gl brut pals under the tank one for ATO with Kalk and one I use for water changes.

I dose All For Reef 15ML a day right now.

No skimmer.

I’m adding more fish to the tank and have it stocked with corals.

I want to know what is best to put in the media baskets? Should I change what I have in it.

Should I consider a skimmer? I would get the Tunze 9012? Or wait and see how the micro reactor does.

If no skimmer what should I put in the empty overflow section in the back. One of them has the reactor pumps in it.

Corals
Black light torch
Soul reaper torch
Todd’s torch
Rose gold hammer
Purple tip hammer
ORANGE BRANCH OCTO
Rainbow bubble anemone
Neon green bubble tip anemone

Welcome to R2R!

What are your water parameters? Are you trying to filter out something specific?

A 16 inch tall tank doesn't seem like a good fit for those tangs when they reach full size. (I could be wrong though) :)

I want to try and get ahead of the game before issue pops up.

I thought about the hight but the tank is 70’ long and they swim side to side. If I notice them being stressed I will adjust and make efforts to trade. But I don’t think I will be.

What are you parameters? Anything particular issue you are concerned about? Staying in front of potential issues is a good idea, but if your fish are happy and corals are growing I wouldn't go messing with that too much. Tank looks great btw

Welcome to R2R! Tank looks fantastic! I understand trying to get ahead of potential problems as life has a way of throwing problems at my tanks, but the tank looks happy, and the corals don't seem to be having any problems. Protein skimmers aren't always necessary, and your macro algae may help with the high phosphates. My opinion would be to leave it as it is. However, when/if you add new fish, watch the tank for changes. IMO, the tank is adequately stocked, but you can make your own decision. Oh, and my curiosity is getting the best of me, so what are you adding to this beautiful tank?

Welcome fellow IM AIO keeper! I love your tank! My thoughts on skimmers are they are great for keeping dissolved organics out of the tank, the only other way I know of is water changes. Definitely keep the filter floss clean and your water will stay nice and clear.

Right now I dose 20ML or all for reef a day. So far it’s been keeping my alk at 10 but calc is a little high at 500. I also add klak to my ATO.
