I'm looking at changing my tank from a Waterbox 20 Cube (450mm or 18" in all dimensions) to a custom made shallow reef tank. I'd ideally like to keep my single AI Prime 16HD light as its only source to grow soft/LPS corals.

New tank, if I go ahead with it, will be 600x450x350mm or 24x18x14".

I will probably have some sort of island style aquascape so won't be growing corals out to the very edge. Will that extra 150mm/6" width be fine with the 100mm/3.5" shallower depth?

For softies and LPS, you should be fine. You'll need the light mounted 12-13" off the water to cover the full 24" width, though.

Thanks!

I guess in time I could buy another, but for starters it’ll be good.

Just wanted to double check though as it’s a custom tank so no going back!
