hi, just got an unused hydra 26hd. i always read a lot of reviews about lens being burnt but i still bought it because i got it cheap.

which diodes are prone to burning so i will not max it.

I think it's the lens that covers the leds that burns. I may be wrong but would assume blues since most people run white very low. My blues are 80 % and the lenses are fine.

In hydra 26/HD, similar to radions, UV/violet LEDs melt the lens the most.

Much better chance of not overloading the UV/Violet spectrum LEDs if you are willing to invest in Luxdium pucks for the Hydras. I have the gold pucks from their site and they are absolutely awesome. Better spectrum, run cooler, and more par.

I had my Hydras for about 8 years now, and I did have to replace the lenses through AI once because the UV and Violet were so burned up from the stock LEDs.

Ill take note on that channels. Is 50% still high?this will be placed in front of my 1 year old smatfarm g5 for 28x20 19” sand to water line.
