Believe me when I tell you...do not order from John at Advanced Acrylics in Anaheim, CA. He is completely dishonest about everything he says. I have all the emails to prove it. He was very talkative via email until the minute he got my $625 and then he went SILENT. Imagine that! He told me it would take 4-6 weeks to build a sump (A very small simple sump at that). Well...more like 11 weeks and counting. He told me multiple times that he would ship it out this Monday, tomorrow, Friday, etc. He assured me he would take care of this himself. That could not have been further from the truth! It was all lies. He doesn't answer phone calls, voice messages, or emails. I sent multiple messages. Crickets! I finally told him I wanted the sump shipped or a refund. I told him I purchased it on my Chase Credit Card and I think he got worried that I could somehow stop the payment or get it returned by my bank and then he started emailing again and it appeared that he built the sump the next day from the pictures. He basically keeps saying he's going to ship, but just never does. Then he'll apologize and tell you he'll get it out this Monday with tracking and pictures...yada yada yada. Never happens and he'll say...."Oh my employee asked for a "leak test." To me it seemed like he is a one man operation because it was only him that I talked to. Nobody answers the phone and all the communication is via email. It's quite obvious he's severely behind. From what I heard this has been going on for years. What I don't understand is why he keeps taking orders if he's this behind? I ordered a frag tank from him about 6-7 years ago and didn't experience this then, so I'm not sure what happened. All I can say is...DON'T DO IT....or you'll be helplessly waiting for weeks. He really put my build behind and I was unable to have the tank up by Christmas. Had I known he was going to continually lead me on and say he was going to ship but never do it....I would have stuck my 40B under the tank and started the tank with that....which I finally did BTW. It was just a nightmare and then when he finally created the label, he got my address wrong. Just unbelievable how ridiculous this whole affair was. Never again. I should have read the Google reviews, but I didn't because like I mentioned above, I ordered from him before and didn't expect this to happen. Lesson learned. Please go to Google if you don't believe this review and it's basically echoed there by several others like me.
