Hi all! Happy Weekend!

currently I have a Purple Tang and a Foxface. They get on completely fine but like brothers sometimes do want there own space.

I was thinking about adding another yellow tang.

would a third calm aggression or would it spike some more trouble?

currently a 200 litre tank (all 3 fish are small) and will be upgrading to a 350 at Christmas time

I'd wait until you are ready to move all the fish to the new tank before adding.
You could do it now but the yellow tang wouldn't be on even ground with his tank mates.

Chances are the tangs will fight in a 200 liter tank

It would be easier to add a second tang when you upgrade so both have new territory.

I tried two in a similar sized tank (80g) and had to remove one. They were fine for awhile but but definitely started stabbing each other and it was two different kids of tangs. Kole and Yellow. So I just have the yellow now.

I don't think adding a 3rd fish would make fighting less. It would just be a new boxing partner.

Go for it! Just note that you have to give them away after 3 to 5 years! if they start to fight put a mirror or give a time out (the time out is the acclimation box) also not that yellow tangs are expensive. Hope it goes well!!!!!
