I regularly receive messages on how I got light behind my reef tank. Here’s my YouTube video documenting the process along with links to products in the description of the video.

The background light is one of my favorite features of this build. It’s also the sole reason that I went with a Peninsula tank. This is the only version of CADE Aquariums that does not have a black background and overflow on the back glass.

Please reach out if you have questions!! Thanks for watching!

Thank you! Appreciate the kind words. DIY works great too! Drop me a pic of your setup.

what a beautiful tank. unfortunately, my computer wont let me watch the video.
It’s on my @ReefStash YouTube channel.

Super cool. Why do you put the black on the sides ? How does it look if you leave the sides clear?
Originally I thought it would look more balanced with blacked out sides to match the overflow but eventually took the black vinyl off the sides. Here are some pics with the left end visible without black vinyl…

And here is the right side which has the overflow. I recently took a section of black vinyl off and installed a web cam on this panel which is connected to my KAI controller…

Nice setup wow!

Great addition but it's a sin to do that to that beautiful peninsula! LOL

Looks awesome though great job chief. I love the aqua scape.
Thank you!!! Honestly Peninsulas are the best option for a lighted background because they have a back glass free from gear, overflow and any type of vinyl backgrounds. It would look nowhere near as cool with an overflow on the back glass.
