Hello Guys,

Is there any difference between activated carbon for freshwater tanks, saltwater tanks, and products that mention both of them together on the label/box?

I am planning to buy Eheim's a.carbon but on the box it only mentions Freshwater

Can I use it in my nano reef tank too?

This is the product:

I would rinse it out before use so water runs clean.

Randy recommends ROX 0.8 carbon so it likely is better option for reef.
From my experience I can say ROX 0.8 is almost dust free but the granulated are small so you will need fine mesh bag etc…

Good luck,

Thank you guys

I already had pellets on hand from another brand. I will likely keep using pellet version of a.carbon then
