So I’m new to this I cycled my tank now I’m ready to acclimate the fish I got the person I talked to at my LFS said this would be the best way to acclimate them it’s a steady drip drip any opinions is greatly appreciated.

Depends on the difference in salinity between bag and DT.

If bag higher than DT, just add tank water to bring it down. This can be done quickly in an hour. They can go in when equal.

If bag lower than DT, raise by removing 25% of bag water and replacing with DT water every 15 minutes over a few hours until DT salinity reached. Going upwards is a bit harder and takes more time for the fish to adjust.

Once salinity equaled, float bag one more time for 15 minutes to match temp and in they go.

Drips of course work good but you don’t want to put a low salinity kept fish into higher salinities, this can cause shock.

However you add water, two things you want.
1-the bag and DT salinity are equal.
2-temp is matched.

Good luck,

Personally I keep the bag in the water so they acclimate to the temperature, then I add about a quarter cup every 5 minutes or so for about 30-45 minutes, then reach in and scoop them out and into the tank. Its that easy.

Of course, test the salinity of the LFS water, they sometimes keep it at low salinity to help reduce chance of disease. If the salinity is lower, then I take about 3-4 hours to match the salinity.

Yes drip acclimating them should be fine, I usually do 1-2 hours.

Also are these clownfish quarantined?
I drip acclimated then for an hour just put them their new home and the ones I got they where in a tank with 3 more and looked at them before I bought them and they where very active. And also leaving the light off overnight that I have over the tank and also just fed them a little bit and they rushed to the food lol also this is the tank they went in been cycling for a little over a month is overnight a good amount of time to leave the lights off over the tank

Assuming the environment you're providing is ideal, just dump them in. Like a breath of fresh air...

A NEW tank can be rocky sometimes though. (things will live, things will die, things will prosper, things will become a pest etc etc) GL.
