I received my acanthophyllia last Thursday 10/01/20, alive and well packed but it’s skirt is snagged up over its skeleton in several spots. It wants to puff and expand but doesn’t seem to be able to get up and over the bone ... Any suggestions?

First photo (Lights off)
Other two (lights on) trying to get up & over

There doesn’t appear to be any damage and shows a feeding response when I feed the tank but I don’t want too much time to pass.

Thank you!

ouch not looking good. personal experience that's a pre-existing condition. don't move it around or bother too much and try feed it 2-3X week hopefully the tissue can recover

That is damage. It will grow and heal over. White skeleton means fresh damage

yes, skeleton is white ... I’m so sad, it was packaged beautifully but we don’t have any control over what happens in shipping. So I’m assumingsome TLC, stable parameters and food (time of course) ... is there anything else I can do to make the healing process “easier” or more favorable?

thank you

As long as there is no algae growth on exposed skeleton, these usually heal quite nicely.

I see some discoloration but nothing horrible like hair algae (knock on wood) ... thank you for your input, I’m hoping for the best!
