So I’ll preface this by saying I’m out of town so I can’t test but the wife sent me this pic of an acan frag I’ve had for about 2 weeks. It’s looked great and I’ll include a tank pic with it to show the difference but all the other corals look great still…any idea what could have caused this? I have had the issue of my tank being too clean. Feeding every other day. This happened one day to the next.
I did have her drop in the Hannah ph tester and it’s within the normal range.

Looks really dark in that corner of the tank. What light are you using? May not be getting enough light. Could be low nutrients or an issue with alkalinity. What levels are your alkalinity, nitrates, phosphates? Do they stay fairly stable and how often do you test?

Test alk every time every other day stays fairly consistent .3 difference at most. 8.0 is where I try to be.
I had an issue with low nutrients at first I was running gfo but since took it out n have nitrates 10 and aim for phosphates around .1 right now they were .07.

The light was turned down slightly. I had it higher but with the low nutrients I had almost 400 par it was too high. I need a second one to get a better more even spread

Yeah, nutrients are fine, as well as alk.

Until you get that second light, I would physically raise yours much higher above the tank and turn it up more for better even spread without burning anything having it so close to the water.. Could be a bacterial thing going on with your acan. Could try a tea tree based coral dip like Revive or an iodine dip and see how it responds. There are a few threads on here that go over how to iodine dip with Lugol’s.
