Hi everyone,
I got this acan frag a few weeks ago and probably should have checked it out a bit more thoroughly beforehand. It has no issues healthwise that i can tell. It opens
up fully, eats good, no tissue receding etc...
what concerns me however, is that it appears that one polyp has 2 pieces of its skeleton sticking out of the center. My belief is that it is a “splinter” from when it was fragged, but im not sure.
After a few weeks it hasn’t shown any signs of getting better, nor has it seemed to get worse. It does seem to affect it eating and it has trouble expelling waste. I am worried it could lead to food decaying in it and killing it.
I took these two photos just after lights on when its pretty visible. One is bright white, the other is black where theres food waste caught in the mouth and on the spike.
Any ideas what i can/should do here? Im sort of thinking of taking some cutters and cutting the spikes flush so hopefully the acan can grow over it but i really dont want to kill the polyp by damaging it further.
