I prefer to let my equipment do the "looking" so I can actually sit back and enjoy watching the fish. This kind of conflicts with the second point...

As for feeding fish every other day, as you point out - this doesn't work with all types of fish (some of us like having active movers).

In terms of maintenance, again - I prefer having the "crew" to turn over my sand bed and keep any algae growth in-check.
