I’m considering putting my 7” tall Orange Spiny Gorgonian on a rock that currently has some Xenia - which I’m allowing to spread over the rock.

I know that Xenia doesn’t have a sting, but I’m wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with this. Will the bottom couple inches of the Gorgonian be irritated to death? Will the height of the Gorgonian enable it to thrive in spite of being possibly surrounded by Xenia? Any insight here? Thanks!

You should take that Xenia rock out, scrub it, bleach it, burn it in fire and then pulverize the rock into fine granules... Barring that, definitely don't place the gorgonian in the center. The xenia will spread and overtake it.

Here's a visual impression of what I'm talking about. Imagine your gorgonian as one of the fleeing workers. Just slower.
