Im most of my pics alot of the color is getting washed out. Im using the camera in av mode with an apature between 9-16. I cant seem to get the color to show in the pics. Anyone have any suggestions?

This pic was taken today with my canon xt.

And this pic was taken with my brothers point and shot camera. The colors on the limeaids are perfect in this pic.

Both pics were taken in the same place in the tank under the same lighting. How can I get my canon to capture the color like my brothers point and shoot?
