Is it just me or does it look like she put a chunk of ramen noodles in and now she wants to grow Zoas on it?
Y’all inspired me to cook up some fresh rock for my tank!

I HAVE FISH!!!!!!!
hallelujah GIF

Please welcome Luna and Kevin. Not sure which is which yet and I’m pretty sure they’re still figuring that out, too!

I’m already stressing a bit because the fiestier of the two had a moment with my wave maker in the bucket I was using to acclimate them. He was briefly stuck on top of it. I rescued him asap and he’s definitely still fiesty, but I’m worried he may have gotten beat up by the whole thing. I’m like a nervous new mother with a newborn.

The kittens also had a vet appointment this morning and have doubled in size!

I’m off to go stare obsessively at my fish and worry over them. :grimacing-face:

They are beautiful, that is one of my favorite breeds of clowns.
I saw them at the LFS and was hooked. I saw that they were $25 a piece and I was sold. They already have so much personality and I got both to eat. (I grabbed a package of the same food the LFS was feeding them.)

They’re perfect and I would go to war for them already. :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:

I’m happy to report the clowns are doing great and eating like piglets. They bring so much life to the tank!!!
IMG_7728.jpeg

I’m unabashedly, ridiculously in love with them.

My first tank never had fish. I had a ton of invertebrates, but no fish and I really wasn’t that interested in them and didn’t quite understand why people were so bonkers over theirs. Now, I totally get it and will be counting the weeks until I’m ready to add another.

This is not unlike the process I went through with children, but I digress.

It also seems like adding them has really woken up my tank. Even though I was ghost feeding before, now with the fish, my snails are more active and I even noticed some tiny fanworms on my rock!

Today is water change day, so I’m off to procure RO/DI water from a LFS and maybe a crab to start munching on the hair algae.

I am happy to report that pretty much everything in the Borg collective is thriving. My clowns continue to be adorable and eat like piglets. I’m currently feeding them TDS 2x a day. My snail crew remains more active so I’m guessing they were a bit underfed before. My Zoas are also happy and making baby heads!

My kitten collective continues to also grow and thrive and are quickly getting into everything and questioning the canine hierarchy. Their assimilation into the pack is nearly complete.
IMG_7736.jpeg

This has driven the canines to drinking.
IMG_7737.jpeg

The clownfish don’t really see what all the fuss is about.
IMG_7727.jpeg

Meanwhile we’re still waiting on hubby’s kidneys to stop being so angry. On the bright side, his heart has not gone into afib for a week.

That is all the news from the Borg for now!

Happy Friday!

Tomorrow I plan on picking up a tailspot blenny to join these two jokers:
IMG_7745.jpeg

My Zoas survived their tumble from the rock, but man does my glue job look ugly and I do want to get rid of the bottom stem of the gray plug. Would I use a dremel on it? I’m going to be moving this tank next June, so I could just wait until then when I take out the liverock.

Bright side, it’s putting on new heads!
IMG_7744.jpeg

That’s about all for this week. Just maintaining and slowly adding on. My avast auto feeder and my new noopsych light have shipped, so more changes coming! I have some corraline algae started up along with my nuisance algae.

Today…is already fired. It’s pouring rain and I’m seriously grumbling at my ATT wifi right now. But first, how about all of the good news going on with my tank?

The Avast Plank auto feeder I won on here arrived!!!!
IMG_7748.jpeg

Once I get it all set up, I’m going to do a separate post just for it. I’m really excited to get it going!!!

And, just a couple of days later…
IMG_7756.jpeg

My noo psych K7 mini got here!

So, I’m almost ready to pop the lid off my tank and install both of these. I also ordered a cheap wifi router in the hopes of resolving my network issue. My entire apartment complex has an ATT wifi mesh network and my Hydros power strip just doesn’t work with it. I thought I’d plug the cheap router into the ruckus LAN port and stand up a 2.4ghz only SSID just for aquarium stuff. Alas, ATT blocks me from connecting to the router, making it not possible to configure and essentially useless. I’m going to call their support today, but I’m not optimistic.

I may see if everything except the power strip connects to my ATT wifi and, if so, just make do with a different power strip solution until I move.

In other Debbie Downer news, I almost got a tailspot Blenny this weekend. The LFS closest to me had 2 and I went by right as they opened, but 2 people beat me. I watched the guy right in front of me walk out with the last one in a bag. Then I got the stomach flu on a car trip that afternoon.

It wasn’t a great weekend.

Happily, my clownfish are still getting fat and happy and my one coral is thriving. I also have a healthy stand of nuisance algae, so maybe I’ll get a lawnmower Blenny instead!

Woohoo, I'm seeing diatoms on the sand! Such a good sign.
