Well…no cardiac catheterization, at least not for a while. Hubby’s kidneys aren’t up for the dye. They’re going to work on getting his kidneys healthier and hopefully sending him home tomorrow with a heart monitor and then scheduling a cardiac catheterization as soon as his kidneys can handle it. Dude’s had so much chemo and radiation down there along with multiple surgeries, so I’m not surprised. He’s in good spirits and just wants out.

In tank news, I have a tiny whisp of hair algae started, but everything is happy and I can add to my CUC.

Next weekend, I’m FINALLY getting a couple of clowns and a zoa to see how they do, so I’ll probably also get something that like cleaning rocks.
A few mithrax crabs will clear that algae right up.

I have a coral!!!! Please welcome Benedict Cumberbatch the zoanthid coral.
IMG_7688.jpeg

Nothing too fancy. Just a small scrambled eggs colony to start. If this one thrives, I’ll slowly add more.

My husband is home with a heart monitor and I check in with him every day. He has a lot of appointments coming up and hopefully his kidneys will cooperate and we’ll get that cardiac catheterization and know more what’s going on. At least I’m back down to 2 dogs versus 3.

My little demon, Roo, a 2 year old mini ACD. I got her after my big dog passed.

My daughter’s 4 year old Corgi, Sir Percival of the Round Belly.

The kittens are playful and thriving and super cute and all is well!

I lurv Bene. Yeah. Sorry.

He's one of my favorites. In this case, my daughter named the frag. I was going for just "eggs," as in Eggs from True Blood, but she was pulling for Bene. After some thought, I switched to team Bene.

It’s a rainy Monday morning here in the land of beer and cheese. The Zoas are looking good and with the lights now on a schedule, I’m seeing the start of some tank uglies. Nothing too crazy.
IMG_7694.jpeg

The frag fell from its temporary home on my rockwork to the sand, so I got it right side up there until I’m ready to get out the superglue.
IMG_7690.jpeg

Other than that, not much to report this week, tank-wise. I tried to go out looking for a crab, but everyone was closed on Sunday, so it will need to wait.

Hey 7of9

You had mentioned you hope to get a pair of black and white clowns for your tank. Im not sure where you're located, but absolutelyfish in NJ is having a sale on their nano storm clowns, $50 each. I ordered a pair this weekend and they're coming Thursday . Hopefully they have a safe journey to CT.

Welcome to the ugly stage! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing:
IMG_7698.jpeg

I’ve got some diatoms and hair algae going on, but I’m happy. It means life is finding a way. My little zoa frag seems quite happy.

I’m planning a water change and clean this weekend and also going back and forth on what to add next. A lot is going to depend on how much the vet charges me for all the kitten shots now that they’re healthy enough. Little buggers are growing like weeds!
IMG_7695.jpeg

But, then they do cute things like this and it’s worth it.

Hubby has a cardiologist appointment tomorrow morning and hopefully we’ll know more what’s going on there. He also got the job he interviewed for while he was in the hospital, so now he’s going through all the background checks and such.

Life is good!

Well…fork. (If you watched The Good Place, you know.)
ralphie oh fudge GIF

I went to the cardiologist today with my husband. He has left sided heart failure with reduced injection. In English, that means some of the heart tissue on the left side of his heart has died and his heart is no longer able to fully pumped oxygenated blood to the rest of his body. That’s a big problem, but for now his kidneys are so damaged we’re focusing on those and trying to keep him off dialysis.

I’m working on figuring out how best to help him and support him through this while balancing my health and the kids’ needs. He could have many more years or could be gone any day, but he is going to need care and I’m the only family he has.

So…yeah. I’m feeling pretty overwhelmed right now.

The borgcube is going through its uglies. I could reduce my light schedule, but the Zoas look so happy right now that I don’t feel like tempting fate. I’m going to glue them on to a rock when I do my water change this weekend. Any suggestions of a good spot?
IMG_7699.jpeg

I’m considering the big rock at the bottom that they’re next to.

Sorry to hear about the hubby.

as for the zoa. I think any of the bottom rocks would be good. I’ve discovered that I wish I had separate rocks for each type of zoa so they don’t grow over each other covering the next. I’m experiencing that now and wish I had more separation. A few have been completely covered by larger zoas

they all start with 2-3 polyps then you have hundreds

And also sorry about your husband but at least there's a plan in place, or at least the start of a plan.

Is it just me or does it look like she put a chunk of ramen noodles in and now she wants to grow Zoas on it?
And I got those ramen noodles from @StatelineReefer. They’re the best ramen noodles! :rolling-on-the-floor-laughing: You’re just jealous because you don’t have saltwater ramen yet. It’s gonna be all the rage once I come up with a fancy name for it.

That gives me an idea for my next Aragocrete rock! I'll make a reverse mold from Ramen noodles and then pour the Aragocrete in. Brilliant!
