Disclamer: comrades, I live in the world of the metric system. I hope for your understanding
Hello.
I would like to make this thread for my new tank because I want to get some critics and good ideas from community.
I'll probable finish this build 6 month later after moving to Bulgaria, so i have some time to plan everything.
It's will be a mixed reef focused on idea of ULM(ultra low maintenance). So I'm focused on simple solution without complicated hardware.
And i like to keep my fish inside the tank, so it'll be covered by net full-time.
And this is not my first rodeo, it's my 3th+ tank. Usually I'm keeping Acropora, but I'm missing soft corals and it will be nice to return to beginning
Tank:
75*80*70h cm. Its about 270L water
Drop off(deep part) 30x30cm
10mm glass(bottoms 12mm)
Rimmed - Euro Brace 50mm wide from 10mm glass
Black silicon
Herbi overflow:
20mm return
20mm main drain
20mm emergency drain
+ ATO tank 10l for osmosis
SUMP 50x40x35h cm- very small and simple
DIY Stand from 18mm glued plywood, protected from water by epoxy pain
I got the idea from this video:
100cm high at shallow part and 70cm at deep part.
Separated to two sides- dry for electronics and controllers and "wet side" for SUMP and some bottles with AFR etc
Hardware:
1)Led light ~ 250 Par. I already have 3x AI PRIME 16HD, so i have light for start.
I'm not so happy with that because they are noisy and burning lenses, but maybe I can make some mix with other LED
2)Skimmer Bubble Magus Curve 5
3)Return pump Jebao DCA5000
4)Dosing pumps for AFR and traces
5)UPS for Wave makers
6)2x Jebao MLW-30 13000 LPH
7)VorTech MP10mQD for Drop Off part of aquarium, I'm really do not see other solution.
8)Automatic Fleece Roller Filter - I had a very nice exp with this stuff after I upgrade it to use 100m fleece spools from sewing store for few $
9)Titanium water heater
I'd love to hear your advice and criticism on possible problems/what could be improved, especially if you've had a similar aquarium!
So far I consider main challenges in water flow and light spread through the aquascape
