Hi, Anyone experience their Tunze 6105 pump stop working? I keen it regularly every 2 to 3 months, a few weeks ago it stopped completely.
I took it out of the tank and cleaned it, I changed the voltage jumper and it seemed to work. I tired the 18v jumper and it worked, tried the extra 12v jumper and it worked too. I tried the old 12v jumper and that worked to.
Now I cleaned up the pump holder and went to put the Tunze 6105 back in the tank and nothing, not working at all. I see the impeller twitch slightly, I did have one of the new 18v jumpers in the power brick. Not sure what's going on, anyone have this happen and a solution?
The Tunze 6105 is probably 5 or 6 years old, it has the power brick model 09257H
Thanks for looking

It is fairly old, so failure from age is not out of the question, with DC pumps you have electronics, the capacitors in particular on the circuit boards tend to limit lifespan to at most about 10-12 years, 7-8 being more the norm. Electronics definitely do not last forever. A power supply with jumpers would generally indicate this pump was made before 2016 as after that we switched to a power supply that is always 24V, the jumpers were a weak point and no longer necessary when a controller became standard, they were a primitive power adjustment pre controller and this jumper slot was a common point for water and salt to enter and short the power supply. I would start by verifying that the metal shaft the impeller spins on is still installed in the motor, it should not come out, it should not be fused in the drive unit. The drive unit should pull out easily. If this checks out, I would probably replace the motor 6105.100 and power supply 6101.240, alternatively you could upgrade it to an Ecostream if you have the wide housing it came with, to do this you would use power supply 3154.120 and upgrade the drive unit to 6105.702.

Yup everything looks good, impeller spins freely or at half turns as the magnet poles allow. Pin is straight and in place. Not seeing any salt on the power supply as I had it mounted a few feet above the sump.
At any rate, thanks for the reply. Never hurts to ask if there's a simply solution.
Thanks again
