Good evening just joined r2r after browsing for a few months just wanted to show off my build it’s a 40 breeder tank with a custom stand that I built, the end goal was keeping acropora which I have been very successful so far! I was running a 250watt metal halide but got tired of the magnetic balast buzzing so I switched back to LEDs for now

March 16th is when I filled it up, but I’ve had multiple other tanks since this one has been the most stable tank I’ve had so far which makes my life easier

managed to score these metal halides. My old one was not great I will work on making these more hidden later not really worried about it. Par tested much better

Awesome little tank! I’m about to embark on a very similar build with a 50 gallon end drilled like that. Do you happen to have any pictures of the plumbing and sump?

If I were you I would go thru the bottom or do two drains or do a overflow box for sure I got talked into this design and it’s not terrible but I can’t turn my return pump up all the way

Added some LEDs so I’m not running my metal halides for 12 hours 6 hours will do just as good and the rest metal halide traded a hydra 26 for 2 prime 16hd

Little update scored this Fiji 81 ext. had to reseal but going up this weekend to replace my 40 breeder got a trigger ruby sump for this tank

Took awhile to get it up but spent the past couple days getting it right gonna do a different light setup and add mh later

Little update for a new fixture need to build my Stand out but been so busy with work haven’t had a chance traded my ai primes for 2 xr30s for the deeper tank much better also picked up this Walt Disney for $50 at lfs not bad!

Should mention it wasn’t this color when I got it’s been coloring up nice!
