without knowing the flow rate of the wave maker it is difficult to have an informed opinion. Having said that my clowns are in a literal washing machine of turbulence and they are out and about swimming against / with the current ....i think its good exercise for them. try standing at a distance and observe the tank, you may find that up close they retreat to a "safe" zone

I only have a 3' tank and i run a Jaboa sp-120 4300gph on setting 2, opposite end 2 mini hygger 1600gph wave makers on full random, random nozzle flow off a mantis tornado 4000....lots of flow and fish seem happy.
I would suggest imo that you should keep the 2 going
