Although I can’t help with the lighting question, I think your aqua scape looks great! One thing to consider… make sure you have room on the right side between the rocks and glass. I had to move my scape around for this specific reason. Otherwise you’ll end up with algae on the glass that you can’t get to.

There is just enough room for the scraper. Made sure of that when I places everything.

Below is the BRS video link mentioned above.
They cover ideal mounting and do PAR testing on several different size tanks. (I think they do an 18"x18"x18" cube which might be close)

BRStv AI Prime 16 HD Testing

I'm using a scaled down version of their LPS settings on a 40 breeder and pretty happy with it.

Ideal would be to rent a PAR meter but the video might give you good starting ideas.
Please take a look at the attached video. I have been running these settings at a maximum of 99% output. See the attached photo for my setup.

I have been having great growth of my softie/ lps and my monti and birds nest with the standard Biocube lights. I did add 2 12 inch leds just for more blue but everything was growing great before.
I wanted to go lid off. Plus I have modded it a bit. I just can't leave stuff factory original. LoL

I like the lid off as well, great look. I didn’t notice but make sure you have some sort of screen lid to stop any carpet surfers you might stock. The one thing I do like about my lid is there is very little evaporation which allows me to go without an ato. I have a little system for manual top offs.

I dabble in 3d printing. I have a custom canopy made. I actually just finished it last night.

Here’s my lid cover solution. BRS has a screen kit that I used. I have access to PETG clear plastic in different thickness and sizes at my work. I cut out a piece to fill in the bow front area. B89AE90A-B954-4279-AD23-2F6ACDB2E4F0.jpeg7F54F6BF-BBBD-40E5-ADF1-BBC608614ECB.jpeg

I'm going to reprint it. I just ordered some more black PETG. I do like the clear handle and the curve pc you cut. Looks very nice. I have set mine up so I can put my auto feeder on it as well along with a feeding ring that will go be on the netting. I will keep ya posted when I get it put together and looking the way I want.

Yeah, I’m an “old school” prosthetic technician. I manufacture most items by hand in house. Measuring, cutting, grinding, and buffing said items. I’m very envious of other clinics that have the ability to 3D print. Definitely seems like the wave of the future. Although strength wise 3D can’t compete with vacuum formed sockets.
