Hello, I have had my biocube for about 2 months now. I have been trying to look at better lighting schedules for my tank. Right now its on for about 12 hrs a day and i have read and been told it should be on no longer than 8-10 hrs a day of lighting. I prefer the lights to turn on around 10 or so and turn off by 8 or 6 depending on what is better for my fish and corals.
I have:
2 Clowns
Goby/Pistol Shrimp pair
Royal gramma
4 zoas
rainbow ricordea

Lighting Schedule:

LC1 (Daylights): 11:00 am to 7:00 pm
LC2 (Sunrise / Sunset): 10:30 am to 7:00 pm
LC3 (Moon Lights): 7:00 am to Midnight

This is the schedule im running right now. Is this to long for my fish/corals? Also in a few months I plan on adding an anemone once my tank is stable and doesn't fluctuate much. Would this change how i should schedule my lights?

Thanks for your time.

That is a lot of white light IMHO. Also I overlap my blues and white lights on my tank to get full benefits.
This is the schedule I am on...
3:30 ramp up
4:00 full white on
5:00-6:30 blue and white full on
6:30-11:30 blue only
11:30 ramp down
Off by midnight
This gets me little to no algae growth and my coral color is on point. Hope that helps

Those settings sound a lot better and yeah i figured it was a lot of white light to be putting on my tank. Could u possibly send me the exactly schedule? Maybe i can try that one out. I know you typed it out but could u put it like LC1- LC3 i dont want to end up messing something up. Thanks for the help

Of course it took me a few months to get it right since I was Completely new to the hobby When I starte
I have had many freshwater fish tanks before this, but I have never kept saltwater fish. I love how colorful the fish can be and its a unique experience converting from freshwater to saltwater.

thats awesome :D would love to see them sometime. My tank is pretty new only 2 months, but I have a lot of free time compared to when I played sports and stuff. So i figured i might try it out since i actually have the time to do maintenance and carefully watch the tanks parameters.
