Could I put a Mcoskers, royal flasher, and a carpenters wrasse in a 50 gallon tank or would they fight without enough space?

It is a small tank for flasher wrasse so I would diversify a bit. Drop two and get a Halichoeres and a small fairy. Maybe a leopard if you are willing to try something harder

What small fairy would you suggest? I could drop one of the flasher for it?
Lubbocks, pintail, brunneus
Any As though a B might work too.

Getting old sucks. Beats the alternative though

Anything really colorful and fun like that for cheaper?
You are going to be limited by both the size of the tank and its age. A older tank has lots of micro fauna that some of the coolest critters eat. Availability can also vary a lot based on location. Petco here often has nice wrasses. On your side of the country I hear that is much less common.

Could I take off the carpenters and trade it for a Christmas wrasse?
Yes that would work fine. You may also want to consider a ruby longfin or Naomi fairy wrasse though they are a bit more aggressive

To clarify it depends on what you mean by Christmas wrasse?
Do you mean Halichoeres biocellatus or Halichoeres claudia? If so then yes!

If you mean Thalassoma trilobatum then no way!
