This one I should have taken a picture of while still in the tank but it looks pretty much the same (first pic is the top side, second is the bottom). It was clung to the glass and (with a glove on) I drug it up to the surface and struggled the take it off the glass and it felt pretty hard/solid, like it had some carapace. It didn't run, resist, move, fight or anything, completely still. It was the only one I saw.

The other is one I've had a few in my tank for a while now, they don't seem dangerous and they don't move (almost like they grow it seems) and hang out in low current areas. I took one out and it is in the 3rd pic in attachments, and the 4th picture is a few more hanging out behind some equipment. Little planted white tubes with what look like feelers or something on one end.

Chitons and q tip sponges
Chiton -
Chiton_04.jpg

Good hitchhiker. Consumes algae. Does not appear to bother anything.

Pineapple Sponges - Well they used to be called Qtip sponges

Very common good hitchhiker. These little guys are a type of sponge. They are most commonly found in overflows and in high flow areas of the sump. However, they can sometimes bee seen in shaded areas of your rockwork.

Both in the handy dandy R2R guide to common new tank hitchhikers
