I actually prefer to clean an animal utilizing the gutless method. No anus removal required.
I prefer using the blunt multitool knife method because that’s the way I was taught when my so called instructor forgot his knife…

For deer, usually a Havalon is sufficient. Gutless method means no saw or anything else required.

No idea of the method. We were supposed to prepare a couple live goats for a party out in the bush. I don’t remember much if anything being left over and it took a long long time.

Ok...different lingo..we just call it quartering it. Most of the time I'll just gut it and take to processor..but indont have to pack it out or anything. If it's not processor worth then we quarter it up

Yeah, some places GSQ (gut, skin, quarter) others just take the legs and backstrap. We prefer whole animal but then they charge pounds for the chest and there's only a pound or two of rib meat so it's cheaper to leave it in the field. Cleaner not to mess with the guts
