Hi everyone!

My name is Shay and i'm a 23 (i'll be 24 in two weeks) year old reefer from Israel.
I've wrote a few words about myself here:
https://www.reef2reef.com/forums/meet-greet-forum/88542-hello-israel.html

Just like most of you guys and gals here, i fell inlove with cube reefs :)

My new system is going to be about 105G.
Tank dimensions will be 25.5"W * 25.5"L * 25.5"H - just under 70G
Sump dimensions will be 21.5"W * 21.5"L * 19.5"H - just under 40G
So it's a total of about 105G...Pretty good in my opinion.

The tank will be build with extra-clear glass on the front and both sides.
And hopefully- rimless... :)

Equipment
Protein Skimmer: SKIMZ SK-201, internal cone skimmer. (allready bought it)- Skimz Kone SK201 Protein Skimmer : Skimz.sg
Return Pump: Laguna red dragon 2000GPH, internal (allready bought it)
Reactorsr: TLF's Phosban reactor * 2 - For carbon and phosphate remover.
Water Flow: I wanna go with two EcoTech Marine Vortech MP10w ES, but it might be a problem because of the glass thickness. Any suggestions?
Lightning: I need your help here. i wanna go with all LED's (never had it before). I'm waiting for a very good deal on a good product. maybe the Maxspect mazarra?
Dosing Pumps: I've never worked with dosing pumps before and i'm thinking about going with Marine Magic- Marine Magic aquarium dosing pump - Triple | eBay
What do you think?

**FYI- In my opinion SKIMZ have a very good product line with afordable prices.

Well, thats about it for now.
I'll try to keep this thread as updeted as possible!
Looking forward for your comments and feedbacks, and i hope you'll enjoy this thead!

Happy reefing everybody,
Shay.

You don't say what your glass thickness is. The MP10s work on 3/8" glass, but not 1/2" if I remember correctly. 1 MP40 will work on a tank that size, but you have fewer placement options than you would with a pair of MP10s. I have 2 x MP10s on a 60g cube (24x24x24).

Well, if i'll go with the rimless tank i'll need a 15mm glass (0.59")
But, if i'll go with a regular tank with Peripheral reinforcement glass at the top i'll need a 12mm glass (0.47")

Sounds like you have a great tank under way. If you don't get response back in your tank thread on your questions I would suggest doing is starting a thread on the different questions that you may have. Sometimes this will draw others attention more and will help you get more feedback. Good luck on the build and look foward to following along.

Very nice. I have a 46g 22" cube and wish I would have gone bigger. Just out of curiosity, why 25.5 and not 26"? Good luck and God bless

My rimless 60 is 3/8" (.375") glass. .47" (or what amounts to half inch glass) seems to be overkill, but then again, I am not a tank builder. Mine is a factory made tank and I see no bowing at all. Not sure if that extra 1.5" in all dimensions is what pushes you over.

Regarding the LEDs, I have a single Radion over mine and it covers well, and performs well. Its coverage is 24x24 per the mfr, so again, your 1.5" might push the boundaries.

Regarding dosing pumps, I use 4 BRS dosers for Ca, Mag, Alk, and ATO. They work fine and are affordable, but a controller is the best way to get precise control over them. Standard timers are very gross measurements.

Hi.
Well, we use the metric system. So 25.5" equals to exactly 65cm, and 26" equals to 66.7 or something like that.
So aquarium builders will not be able to do it likee that.

Well, most if the tanks here are custom made. We don't have 'lots of aquarium factories.

About the radion- its just too expensive for me, plus, there's no radion import to israel so there's no warranty.

Regarding dosing pumps- can you please post a link for me to reed about it, and maybe even buy one?

Thanks.

If the Radion is not warren teed, then are the Vortechs? Same Mfr.

Regardless, I will try to post a link to the pumps, and hope Bulk Reef Supply is a sponsor here, otherwise the link might get pulled. These are 1.1ml/hour BRS 2-part dosing pumps.

You're right. It is the same mfr, but for some reason he is not importing the radion yet.

Search for the jbj ato (auto top off) its a controller that will automatically add water to your sump from a holding tank/ container when a float switch is activated from evaporation.

What is available in your area? There are plenty of fixtures as good as or better than the radion. Is DIY a possibility?

While that may be true, I would say anything as good as or better than the Radion, costs as much as or more than the Radion. Plenty of good fixtures, but all are pricey, and all have there pluses and minuses. I searched long and hard to find the right fixture, but no matter which way I went, including the Radion, some tradeoffs needed to be made. Even with DIY, what you save in construction costs, you give up in control, and warranty, and aesthetic.

Not trying to be a Radion fanboy, but the axiom applies "You get what you pay for". You can save some money on the Ecoxotic Panorama or AI Sols, but then you give up PAR and color control respectively. And by the time you configure a comparable Mazspect Mazarra you have spent more. Also, unless you are really good at DIY, most DIY rigs will not be pleasing hanging out in the open over a rimless tank. So sure there are plenty of LED setups, but nobody is letting them go at fire sale prices. You have to decide what features are important to you, then start researching all the fixtures and see how close you can get to you magic price point.
