My XR15 G4 broke with an open circuit error and I am unable to update, troubleshoot / fix the light as echo tech told me it was totaled. I have an Amazon $1000 credit and I was wondering if there is any good lights on Amazon. I see Uber cheap lights that look overall unsafe so I was wondering if there are any lights similar to XR15 in programming and quality on Amazon?

Let me know

Thanks!

I have not used hydras but I know people that are very successful with them

I do have a prime I’m not super impressed with. But the hydra tanks I’ve seen are very good

Aside from that one of my vendors uses nicrew hyper reef, 150w, they are on Amazon.

The smatfarm has also grabbed my interest. There’s a huge thread on them. A lot of people like them

I thought Amazon had pretty much everything, even if they were not necessarily the best price for that item?

I would identify the best light for you, your tank, and what you want to keep. Then, I'd look on Amazon, and if not, I'd turn that gift card into cash you could spend anywhere. You can sell a gift card, someone may offer you $900-$950 for your $1000 card. You're losing a little in the *translation*, but if the gift card was truly a gift, and if it gets you the light you want, it might not be a bad way to go.

Here's an idea: you could use your Amazon gift card to buy a pre-paid credit card through Amazon. You'd be giving up some money for sure in the form of fees, but you could convert that Amazon gift card to a major credit card that would be accepted almost anywhere.

This is just off the top of my head as an example, I have never used this card, and I can't speak to it's value, but this is basically what I'm thinking you could do:

Prepaid Visa Credit Card at Amazon

You can buy something from Amazon and resell that item(s) for cash.

Maybe try to find someone, a friend or family member, who needs anything from Amazon and ask them to give you the cash if you order that item for them. Even if it's a few small purchases from several friends, this could add up quickly.

Not sure if it's still there, but eBay used to have a section for people selling gift cards. Again, expect to lose a little doing this, but if it gets you the light you want....

My point is, I would not limit myself to just the lights that can be found on Amazon. Find the light you really want, and make it happen. Buy your light from Amazon if you can, or convert that Amazon money to something accepted everywhere.... like cash ;-)

I hope that helps and good luck with whatever you choose!
