I wanted another reef tank but didn’t have a hole bunch of room so I decided to do a nano build. I followed inappropriate reefers nano build on youtube for my build. Before I got my supplies I had to get a stand. I decided I wanted to make the stand because it would be cheaper and would only take a day for it to be finished.

I went and got all my supplies from amazon or petco and had some other aquarium supplies around the house.
•Aqua knight A030 light
•Fluval Aqua Clear 50
•25 watt heater
•10 pounds of live sand
•and all sorts of media/etc.

I made and over flow for the tank so it would skim the surface and the Aqua Clear filter wouldn’t suck up sand of other things off the bottom. Also it looks much better this way. Here the thread to show you how I made it.

Last night I bought 14 pounds of live rock and 10 gallons of Fritz saltwater and put it all together was still cloudy when I took a picture after I was done though.

Thank you this is my third tank and I’m really hoping to hit the nail on the head with this one. I have a good feeling about this tank. Also, thanks! That’s the first piece of furniture I’ve ever built.

Wow! Even more impressive! If that is your first piece then I would encourage you to keep at it and see where it goes!

Looking good nice setup that Ai Prime upgrade will really turn your build from sweet to awesome

I really look forward to inappropriate reefers vids popping up and Emily is such a good sport, like in his latest vid when he woke her up to move the mangrove tank

I love inappropriate reefers vids he always influences me when it comes to livestock and equipment for my tank. Cool to see someone else be influenced by him and having a tank just like he had. Tank looks good already.
Thanks I loved the setup he put in. The aqua knight did grow my corals but I want to upgrade because I had the money so I got the AI prime. Favorite tank build so far! Hands down.

Nice budget set up. What light are you using for the refugium. I just got a concept 2in1 20g tank (10g each tank) and I need 2 cheap refugium lights. Any suggestions?
Here’s the link to the light.
Disclaimer the light didn’t grow my cheato but it did grow lots of algae in the refugium which I think is good. Because there is zero trace of algae in the main display. I just used double sided tape and slapped it on the HOB filter.

Ai prime, defiantly worth the $200+. I’ve seen massive coral growth since I’ve put it in. I highly recommend it for a 10 gallon nano tank. If you have any questions how I set mine up on my tank just let me know.
