I’ve just done a water change and through rookie error I’ve dramatically changed my salinity from 32-PPT to 40-PPT (1.0241-1.0302) I have two clowns and one small toxic splatter gonioastrea frag. Have I just mistakenly killed my tank I’m very concerned now!!

Since you just did it correct it now. I know some will say do it slowly over the course of a few days, but take some water out and get it down in target range of 1.024-1.026 IMO.

I recently did the opposite ATO had dropped my tank to 1.020, noticed it after work. I adjusted it up to 1.024 in an hour, then was back to normal due to evap in a few days. The only thing that didn't like the low range was my nepthia, which opened up when the S.G. got back to 1.024.

Since it just happened, I would start removing water and adding fresh RODI to bring it back down to normal as quickly as possible. I had something similar happen when my calibration fluid had evaporated some and threw off my numbers.

Get some tap water and prime if Ro isn’t available keep checking your water with every 1/2 a cup of water and keep adding tap/Ro water. If not rush to the nearest lfs and 50% of RO water.

I have prime but I didn’t think you could use it with tap water
