yellow slime

Anybody have any input on removing or reducing this yellow sponge? Surprisingly very little info on it on the internet. I read someone say that it can take the calcium and carbonate from rock and cause it dissolve. Well, I have it on my dragon soul torch colony stalks and one day one stalk...
