So I got his dyno problem, and kinda of let it go a little to long, is it ok to clean all the rocks and sand bed in one sitting or will all the debri from the dynos floating in the water column be toxic to the fish or coral?
I was just wondering if it would be possible to switch out my sand bed and replace it with new Aragonite? Every time I do a water change and siphon it clouds up the water in my tank and the sand has been looking extra dirty recently. Would this be a bad idea? Could it kill everything? Is there a...
My substrate was filled with GHA, so i took the superficial part out and washed it with hydrogen peroxide
I know that kills good bacteria too, but nothing else was working
Anyways, when i put it back into the tank, a bit of the algae that stayed got buried
Is that a problem?
Will it die and...

Hi all,
My tank is 2ft deep with around 125-140PAR at the sandbed; I have a couple spots I'm looking at. I'm looking for suggestions for corals than would do well down there. I'll most likely put them on a little standalone liverock "island". The flow is pretty high in one location and...
Should I move the sand to release the bubbles, leave it, or another option? Hoping it's not hydrogen sulfide.

Hey there everyone! I’ve had my mind made of for a while on getting a orange diamond foby for sand sifting. I’ve been told also that if I don’t have enough algae growth it could potentially die and rather fast in my 24g nano … what are some options I have besides snails. Which shrimp would serve...
My mimic tang, Luxor is becoming increasingly angry. You see, he’s called under that rock his home, but the flow of the water over time keeps filling his front door in. In rage, he splashes and thrashes his body and tail around to clean it all out, but it comes back over the course of the day...
Hi guys,

Hi,
I currently have a Melanurus and Yellow Coris wrasse in a 29gal quarantine tank with a dish of sand. The Melanurus seems to exhibit pretty standard diurnal behavior; he's out during the day and sleeps in the sand at night.TYellow Coris did the same for about a week, however in the past 3...
This might be a stupid question but how do people place coral on their sand bed without it being knocked over constantly by fish or by the flow? Especially for smaller frags.

Hello Reefers!
I have been in the hobby for about 2 years now and diatoms have always been the most common issue in my tanks. Even with minimal nutrients, diatoms can persist in my reef tank. It's not that they are a huge issue, but it can be very unsightly when its blanketed across your sand...
I've been battling algae on my sand bed and rocks since i think my tank went through a mini-cycle about 2 months ago when I was vacuuming my sand bed during water changes. I do water changes every other week and do about 30 gallons and now, just vacuum the algae off the surface of the sandbed...
