When it comes to choosing our preferred lighting brand, there are several factors we all consider. Many of us prioritize coral growth, seeking out brands that have a proven track record. Price range is another significant consideration, as we aim to find a balance between affordability and...
Hi guys!
I am new and still getting used to the forum and its functions :) as well as looking for some experience, so I have a question for you today:
Did you ever have a tank burst?
Like properly burst? Not just leaking, but popping because of random or even accidental touch/point pressure...
Hey guys, so, my fiance and I are going to be moving out of state by this time next year (hopefully) and wanted some outside opinions on what to do with our fish tanks. We have a 75 gallon and a 32 biocube. Neither of us feel comfortable moving glass tanks in the back of a u-haul. My fiance...
I've received so many different types of recommendations for algae sources! So, I wanted to put it to a poll to see what the community generally prefers when stocking their aquariums :)
What do you all think is the better pump, Exclude warranty and gizmos like temp readings and wi-fi.
Lets just focus on the DC side of things
I just like to hear from everyone what would be the better return pump at 17" head pressure.
Also explain why you chose what you voted on.
Recently gotten into an argument with a friend about what happens with food in a tank. The argument is that if I put a thawed cube of emerald entree in my tank does most of that food end up settling in the tank. Like most of it sits on the sand bed and gets in the rocks and aqua scape. Or does...
Please note: I would like to hear what your hippo tang in specific has done and would like to avoid what any other tangs have done in your tank, thank you for your participation.
Hello all, I'm currently an undergrad student trying to conduct independent research on tang aggression. More...
Hello everyone, I am going to be posting some more polls like this every so often to get some general opinions & preferences of the reefing community :)
There are two variations of damselfish that both listed as springeri damselfish which some speculate to be actually two different fish. Which...
With all the equipment we are using in our tanks, sumps, etc. I think we need more sub-forums for specific equipment. This way we can keep everything heater, RO, Skimmer, etc. specific information and threads into the relevant categories. Trying to find information in the general category isn't...
Hey Everyone,
so I’m usually bored at work and I always think about the future reef aquarium I want, when I have my own house and settle down etc. I know I want a 250 gal plus reef but I always think about how I would put together a tank of that size. On one hand the Red Sea and water boxes are...
I'm almost a year into my first small nano tank (my 3rd reef), and I've been wondering if these picos and smaller nanos are ideal for new reefers? I'm really referring to <20 gallon tanks in particular even though I know tanks in the 20-30 range are technically nanos too.
I have mixed feelings...
Just an interesting thought I had, what qualities would you view as being most important in Reefing?
I know its a tough choice, but you can only select your top 3 options in the poll!
Will be interesting to see with some data what we view as being most important!
Equipment (Quality...
Hello All, I have gotten my 1st nem and its not going to well. I should have waited until the tank fully cycled before I added one but I was impatient and the lfs said I should be fine. I just wanted to ask how many of you all had their 1st nem die on you? and let me know your story in the comments.
We all know there are tons of additives/treatments/supplements in this hobby... Some have proven their worth and others have been branded 'snake oil'...
Using the poll tell us what bottles are considered 'essentials' in your fishroom (pick your top 4). If there's one that's not mentioned in the...
Okay reefers. We all experience nuisance algae issues in our tanks at some point. We deal with it in many ways, from natural options (fish, snails, hermit crabs, etc.) to manmade pieces of equipment. It is the latter that is the focus of this poll and thread. What do you feel is the best single...
If you do have or did have GHA, do you prefer a natural way of removing it with a clean up crew and manual removal by hand and suchion.
Or do you prefer to use chemicals?
I’m stuck between two gorgeous ocellaris pairs: one black ice, and one Picasso. In the picasso pair, the female is grade A and the male is grade B (middle and back white lines only connect on one side)
Both pairs are the same size and about the same price. Will be used for breeding hopefully...
In my town most reefers are male but many are female as well- about 60-40. Not enough NB/fluid/trans people in the Bible Belt to make a dent.
Let me know what your experience has been! :)
