I just finally finished setting up my 65g and turned the pump on for the first time. I noticed the flow seemed really loud so I looked in the corner-flow section where the noise was coming from. It turns out that there’s a hole on the underside of the elbow that my loc line is connected to, and...
Help!! I’m setting up a marineland 65g tank with a built in overflow section, and with the way the drilled hole is positioned on the bottom of the tank, the pipe is tilted to get to the space provided for the return. Is this what it’s supposed to look like?
So, I'm at a bit of a stump here on how to plumb this. I have 2 tanks hooked up to the same sump a 20 and 90. I'm trying to install a reefmat 500 on the system and want both outlets going through it... pics are below but what can I do to combine these 2 pipes together to the reefmat mat. Should...
Hey.
I added a flow meter on the return section of my setup, but I see it constantly fluctuates (every day), which is very strange.
I am wondering if it is perhaps the way I have plumbed it or if there is something wrong with my meter or hardware?
I dont think its the meter as the overflow pipe...
I'm starting to plan to build my next tank...
Given the following:
A) COR 20 with it's .75" output, with its output upsized using the included 1.25" Union
B) a UV that has 2" inputs and outputs
C) 1" Neptune flow meters
D) a tank that has 25mm return lines (20mm ID)
My plan is to run 1.25"...
Hi guys!
I recently bought a new tank, now I’ve been working on plumbing it for a couple days and it’s almost done!
Just came across some concerns I noticed my overflow box has water intels above and below (like the drawing I attached) so I’m concerned that my main water drain PVC will drain a...
I am so close to finishing the build of my 60g cube. I wanted to dip my toes in the sump and plumbing area, just for fun.
I think I made the mistake of doing a 1/2” return line, figured with not doing more than 400gph max, I would get away with it. Well, after doing a test on my pump I got, it...
Hello there,
I've been a follower but not a poster so here goes with my first post!
I purchased my first ever tank last year - The Waterbox Marine 110.4. Due to various issues in my life I've procrastinated on setting up the tank and spending the £££ on the equipment to get it up and running...
Setting up a 6ft 180 gallon tank. Going with bean animal 1.5 for the drains. Thinking about adding just one 1” return line. Is there anything I’m missing by not having 2 return lines? I do not need this for flow, I have plenty of power heads for in tank flow I just need it to move water from...
Hi, I just bought a 240G and I want to make it able to filter with a 90G sump.
The aquarium size is: 72x32x24
Both big hole on each side is at 6" from the side panel, and both hole are drill at 2 1/4".
Has I bought use, what I can do for a filtration with a sump with these two hole?
I want a...
I set up a used Red Sea Max E260 a few months ago and the seller gave me the pipe kit for the sump (no sump). I have never had a sump before and have no experience with plumbing but I wanted to give it a try anyway.

I found a good deal on a Trigger System Triton 26 v2 that fit nicely...
Hi All,
Ive attached some pictures of my DIY manifold I put on my water box tank. I built this one myself but now having used it for a few months I realise it has some serious functionality/design flaws - primarily a loss of head pressure feeding through the UV and back up into the display...
I drilled a 2.5" hole in my 46g tank for an overflow box on one side but now I'm thinking I'd rather have the return line there. Long story short, I'm thinking of putting the tank in a different location where the drain would look much better if it was on the other side.
According to...
I am setting up a used 120g, it is a 2 overflow system, and i replaced 2/4 bulkheads. the bulkheads I replaced where both damaged, however the other two seemed good. When I water tested the bulkheads that were old (return pump bulkheads) they both ended up leaking/dripping (slowly). I have...
Good Afternoon,
I currently have a Waterbox AIO 50.3, and am looking into upgrading to a Reef 180.5. Only problem is it needs the plumbing. I know that they use metric sizes, and there are ways to adapt to standard, however, the biggest question and concern is the bulkheads. Does anyone know...
I recently purchased a Cade 1200 S2/P from AlgeaBarn. I really like the larger width on the Cade peninsula tanks and decided to go with them vs the more expensive custom route. Im removing the stock sump and plumbing and fitting it with a DIY 60 gallon breeder and roller mat placed in my...
After reading a bunch of reviews, I'm going to be plumbing my overflow Bean Animal style. Problem is there are so many pics and opinions on how. Please look at the attached pics and give an opinion on the proper design. Thank you
I am plumbing my new tank this weekend and am looking for anyone with a Aqueon dual overflow setup that could provide a plumbing diagram. Thanks in advance!

I just bought an Avast Kalk stirrer, im wondering though if ill have any issues running it up to the AIO section of my tank from beneath in the cabinet. I plan on having my Versa slowly fill the kalk constantly so it doses a very small amount all day. on the outlet ill have a check valve, and...
Hello! Hoping some of you have ideas / experience in something similar and can offer ideas / experiences!
I'm planning on an in wall peninsula display tank seperating a utility and kitchen, with a seperate fish room with the sump and frag tanks in another room separated by a corridor. Below the...
Hello,
I recently got a deal on a aquatlantis aquaview 130. This is going to be an upgrade from my 72 gallon bowlfront in my basement, it’s going into the living room so it needs to be silent.
Here are some of my concerns with the tank:
The return pump plumbing looks to be 1/4 inch, kinda...
Hi Friends, plumbing my first tank and have a question. The overflow box drains have male threads to secure the drains into the box, so is best practice to use, for example, a female x slip union then the drain pipe (thus utilizing the threads that remain protruding after the nut) or simply...
I'm contemplating a large pentagon corner tank build, and want the option to add UV in the future. I'd like to be able to keep the tank flush against the walls, so I am interested in an internal overflow system with holes drilled in the bottom of the tank, rather than needing pipes to protrude...
I have a Reef Octopus CalReact 220 calcium reactor. The pull has failed four times. The impeller is waring out. Every two months like clock work. I would like to change to a different pump. Any suggestions for anyone WHO HAS CHANGED PUMP PREVIOUSLY. Pic of pump and impeller in thread.
